Get grand theft auto 4. THe story is very very VERY long and fantastic!! it has many surpirzes inbetween. And you can choose to kill sombody or not and it changes the game around. Plus the graphics are amazing and the phisiscs are like no other.

def GTA IV, Assassins creed might get a lil boring Bioshock has gotten considerably praise, gears of wars is meh,and the force unleashed is very fun

You must own mass effect, it’s an action RPG with third person and FPS elements and a really engaging story.

Fallout 3 also falls under that catagory, while Mass Effect is an RPG with FPS elements set in a sci fi setting, Fallout 3 is set in a post apocalyptic setting with lots of big guns and mutants. It’s awesome.

Bioshock is another FPS must have, very creepy and stylish FPS that has a good story and lots of branching choices, no online multiplayer though if you need that.

Also try Crackdown, Fable 2, Dead Rising (if you like zombie stuff), The Orange Box, Oblivion, Gears of War, Overlord, Resident Evil 5, Left4Dead. And although you didn’t mention it, you might want to get Rock band or guitar hero, both have decent 1 player playability and are perfect for having friends over.

fallout 3 is a rpg fps and it should last you a while. Rainbow Six games were good to and they have FREE MAP PACKS unlike the greedy folks who made cod.
