Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of GUITAR HERO III for the Xbox 360 video game console. This game is also available for the Playstation 3 PS3 and Wii. It should be available for the Sega Genesis and Atari 7800. CGRHD admits that we suck at Guitar Hero. 10 year olds would crush us in a duel without breaking a sweat. But CGRHD would crush a 10 year old into tears at Ms. Pac Man, so take that!!! This game is loads of fun and makes a great party game or high scoring arcade type of game. You play as a guitar HERO (hence the title) and rock out to music from popular bands like White Zombie, The Killers, Slipknot, Poison, Rage Against the Machine, The Scorpions and Weezer just to name a few. You play the game with a fun guitar controller, we used a wireless one for the Xbox. This game is playable on Xbox Live XBLA with a friend and also has gamer points and achievements. You can play as Slash and other fun characters. Basically Guitar Hero rocks…. which we’ll admit we weren’t expecting. This game was a surprise and has been tons o’ jolly fun. Maybe we’ll have to break Rock Band out at some point, I’m sure we’ll suck at that too.

Part 1 of 2. Classic Game Room reviews GUITAR HERO WORLD TOUR for the Xbox 360 video game console. It’s the Eye of the Tiger of music based video games as far as we’re concerned, this game is awesome! You can play guitar, bass, drums or sing the vocals. The set list and songs included in the games are incredible and feature Tool, Beastie Boys, Billy Idol, Filter, Bon Jovi, Wings, CCR, Survivor, 311, Blink-182, R.E.M., Van Halen, Metallica, Nirvana, No Doubt, Sting, Coldplay, Korn and many, many more. Sure we’re missing AC/DC and Led Zeppelin but there’s so many choice bands here that make this game a winner. Gameplay is similar to Guitar Hero 3 III and keeps most of what made GH3 a lot of fun, while adding all kinds of new features. More character interaction on stage, better backgrounds and concert settings and a complete character creation mode. Design male and female characters, give them crazy outfits, hair and face paint and more. You can rock out solo or party with your band. The original Guitar Hero characters like Midori and Lars are back as well. There is a song composition mode where you can create, record and edit your own music (we’ll cover that in part 2). Anyway, whew! If you like Rock Band or the other Guitar Hero games you’ll most likely dig this review of Guitar Hero World Tour from the Classic Game Room. GH World Tour is available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 PS3 and Wii.
